Make Membership Matter
I'm an extremely active regular member at Richmond Rod and Gun Club (RRGC) in Richmond, California. This year, I'm running for the office of Financial Secretary to continue the work I have been doing with Vince Sargentini (the current Financial Secretary). We put a lot of time and energy into getting the membership process where it is today and want to ensure that the process continues to improve and expand with the club as it grows and evolves. Here's an example of what I can offer as Financial Secretary (the ability to provide new and incoming members a better understanding of their club):

During the February BOD Meeting, the nomination committee is appointed by the President. This committee consists of three board members who are not up for re-election.
Between the February and April BOD meetings, any eligible, regular RRGC member that would like to be a candidate must declare their intention to run to the nomination committee.
In April, candidates are screened for eligibility and must submit their candidate statement to the nomination committee. The committee presents the candidates to the BOD and the Membership.
In May and June, the candidate statements are published in The Sportsman Bulletin along with their statements for voting in June. Ballots start arriving by mail to regular members who are eligible to vote. Note: To vote, an individual must be a regular member fully inducted by May 1st of year in which the vote is taken.
By the last Wednesday in June, all ballots must be received before the Annual Membership meeting at 6PM. Ballots can be delivered at the clubhouse. Tip: If you are mailing your ballot this year, be sure to send it out by June 22nd, so it is received and counted on June 29th.
On the night of the Annual Membership Meeting, voting is closed and all votes are anonymized and tallied. The new officers and board members are announced and immediately assume office. Whether you are a voting (regular) or non-voting (associate) member, please stop by, see the process, and meet your newly (re)elected RRGC representatives!
As the date gets closer, keep an eye out for the next newsletter: "How to successfully submit your RRGC ballot."
